Custom Rod Builders are very particular about every component of their builds. It is very important to give them a product that won't effect the action of the blank or add substantial weight to their builds. My process does not have any measurable effect on the deflection/ action of the rod and only adds about .07 oz to the entire blank, one dime weighs .08 oz.  "Based on a 7' inshore blank"

We do our best to try and make the order process easy and painless. The fact is we offer a very Custom Service and it requires communication between Don and the customer. I am a Custom Painter, not a Supplier of Blanks and Components. My offer of painting "ANY BLANK ANY COLOR" may sound impossible and too expensive but here's how it works.

• We offer free pickup service from Foundation Outdoor Group/Mud Hole and Get Bit Outdoors. We can pickup your order and avoid extra shipping charges. The supplier will still handle the shipping so if your order qualifies for free shipping they will still ship your order for free. Part of our goal is to keep you from spending anymore than necessary with the shipping Companies.
• I work well with the suppliers, not for the suppliers, so you will pay them as usual for your parts order and I will send you a PayPal Invoice for the paint work after I pickup your parts.
• You can also send me your parts or have your supplier drop ship to me. In this case you will be responsible for the shipping charges both ways.

Don and Konnie Shafar are the Owners and Operators of this business.   

They are a family who loves to fish and love working with the Rod Building Community. Don started rod building in 2013. He is an active member of the Custom Rod Builders Guild and a contributing author for their Rod Crafters Journal. In 2023 Don was honored to be inducted into the Custom Rod Builders Guild "Legacy Legends Hall of Fame".

He has also been honored to have some of his builds and paint jobs on six covers of the Rod Crafters Journal, along with many articles printed in the Journal. Don has won two Peoples Choice awards at Rod Builder gatherings. He has also had two top 10 finishes in the International Custom Rod Builders Challenge. 

Don is very active in the rod building community. They live a short distance from Foundation Outdoor Group/Mud Hole, and Get Bit. Konnie picks up parts from each of these suppliers almost every Wednesday. They also attend the International Custom Rod Builders Expo (ICRBE) in North Carolina and ICAST in Orlando every year. 

As of April 15th 2021, They took this business "FULL TIME". This little hobby business has grown rapidly thanks to our incredible customers who have spread the word about the quality of our paint work and our ability to meet our customers needs in a timely and professional manner. We now have the time to dedicate to our customers needs.
